Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC, under the Physical Therapy Service Line and its outlying clinics including Womack Outpatient PT Clinic, Byars PT Clinic, Robinson PT Clinic, Clark PT Clinic, and Fayetteville Rehabilitation Clinic; inpatient ward at Womack Army Medical Center.

Hours

Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants shall work one of the following shifts, Monday through Friday: 0630-1530 or 0730-1630. Scheduled hours include a 30- to 60-minute unpaid lunch break. Contractors will not provide services in excess of 40 hours per week. Outpatient clinics are closed on federally recognized holidays, and the MTF also observes training holidays and base down days.

Position Overview

The Physical Therapist supporting Womack Army Medical Center and its outlying clinics helps service members, dependents, and other beneficiaries recover function, mobility, and performance after injury, surgery, or illness. This federal contract role supports a busy military treatment facility environment with a mission-focused patient population and scheduled clinic hours.

Position Qualifications / Requirements

Education: Doctorate degree in physical therapy; entry-level physical therapists must be graduates of a physical therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education or from a college or university approved by CAPTE.

Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Certification: American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) certification or specialization in orthopedic, sport, and manual therapy is encouraged.

Experience: Two years of experience within the last three years as a physical therapist; two years of experience providing direct patient care in physical therapy in the United States, which may be waived at the discretion of the Chief, Physical Therapy Service.

Duties

·        Performs a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF.

·        Plans and prepares written treatment programs based on patient evaluation.

·        Administers manual exercises and soft tissue mobilization to improve and maintain function.

·        Instructs, motivates, and assists patients with non-manual exercises, ambulation activities, daily living activities, and use of assistive devices.

·        Applies traction and other therapy modalities to relieve pain and support rehabilitation.

·        Documents treatment, patient response, and progress in the patient chart and automated systems, including EHR documentation.

·        Coordinates treatment with physicians and other staff members and communicates patient care concerns to referring physicians as required.

·        Performs prevention, wellness, education, and screening activities to promote positive health behaviors.

Citizenship/English Language/Physical Capability: U.S. citizenship is required for this position. All contractor personnel must demonstrate professional proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and government personnel. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods; lift and move patients or equipment as required by the clinical setting; and perform the physical demands inherent to the specialty.

Special Requirements / Skills

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Base Down Days

The MTF observes installation training holidays and base down days. The contractor shall not be required to work on these days and will not receive additional compensation.
