Site of Service

US Army Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC, Department of Public Health, Occupational Health Clinic

 

Hours

Monday through Friday between 0700 and 1530, excluding federal holidays. Typical shift in the Occupational Health Clinic is 0700-1530 with a 30-minute lunch period, or 0700-1600 with a 60-minute lunch period. Shift shall not exceed 40 hours per week.

 

Position Overview

Supports an Occupational Health Clinic serving military and civilian employees at Womack Army Medical Center. This role contributes to medical surveillance, employee health screening, education, training, and immunization support in a high-tempo military treatment facility.

 

Position Qualifications / Requirements

Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by NLNAC or CCNE at the time the program was completed; or graduation from a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN training program or completion of equivalent military training that permits sitting for the State licensure examination.

Licensure: Shall have and maintain a current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Experience: One year of experience within the last two as a Practical Nurse or vocational nurse.

 

Duties

·        Performs a full range of Practical Nurse duties for the Occupational Health Clinic, including medical surveillance, health screening, education, and training for an Employee Health program.

·        Processes employees who require pre-placement, periodic, and other employment-related physical exams and surveillance.

·        Takes employee vital signs and health history and screens records for completeness, including lab and other results and required documentation.

·        Refers deficiencies to an RN or Occupational Health Provider.

·        Operates medical equipment and performs occupational health exams such as audiogram testing, vision screening, and pulmonary function tests.

·        Administers immunizations to employees as required and participates in immunization events.

·        Performs administrative tasks, including assisting with virtual Occupational Medicine encounters, providing coverage for front desk Medical Support Assistants, and scheduling appointments.

·        Uses Microsoft Office products to create documents, spreadsheets, and email correspondence as required.

·        Integrates healthy work environment principles to improve patient care delivery, patient and family education, and employee satisfaction.

·        Attends staff meetings and huddles.

 

Citizenship/English Language/Physical Capability: U.S. citizenship is required for this position. All contractor personnel must demonstrate professional proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and government personnel. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods; lift and move patients or equipment as required by the clinical setting; and perform the physical demands inherent to the specialty.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Base Down Days

The MTF observes installation training holidays and base down days. The contractor shall not be required to work on these days and will not receive additional compensation.
