Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC 28310, and outlying clinics and offices located on Fort Bragg, NC 28310.

Hours

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 0700 and 1630, excluding federal holidays. Exact duty hours will be coordinated between the Contractor, COR, and Government Supervisor. No telework. No on-call hours.

Position Overview

The Audiology Technician supports the Fort Bragg Public Health Army Hearing Program at Womack Army Medical Center by assisting with clinical and surveillance audiology services for service members and beneficiaries. This hands-on role focuses on direct patient care support, hearing aid services, testing support, and administrative coordination in a military treatment facility.

Position Qualifications / Requirements

Education: High School or GED

Certification: Completion of the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation Course (CAOHC) prior to hiring to enable access to DOEHRS-HC

Basic Life Support is required as identified in the base contract.

Experience: One year of experience as an Audiology Technician, with practical knowledge of health care principles, practices and procedures; medical equipment, medical materials, and supplies.

Duties

·        Performs audiology assessment and treatment interventions.

·        Exercises clinical judgment and adapts clinical procedures and techniques to patient needs.

·        Documents appropriate information related to patient care in the medical record / electronic health record.

·        Supports clinical and surveillance audiology programs under the supervision of an audiologist.

·        Conducts non-diagnostic otoscopy and non-diagnostic hearing examinations in accordance with CAOHC certification.

·        Troubleshoots and repairs hearing aids, performs listening checks, and pairs hearing aids to accessories and devices using Bluetooth.

·        Programs previously stored settings into hearing aids and provides basic hearing aid triaging phone calls and audiology requests.

·        Manages hearing aid supplies, schedules appointments, processes ROES transactions, and packages and mails hearing aids and accessories.

·        Calibrates hearing and hearing aid testing equipment.

Citizenship/English Language/Physical Capability: U.S. citizenship is required for this position. All contractor personnel must demonstrate professional proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and government personnel. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods; lift and move patients or equipment as required by the clinical setting; and perform the physical demands inherent to the specialty.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Base Down Days

The MTF observes installation training holidays and base down days. The contractor shall not be required to work on these days and will not receive additional compensation.
