Youth Caregiver Supervisor/Lead

- U.S. Customs & Border Protection – San Diego, CA
- Chula Vista Station
- Lead – Day Shift
- Supervisor – Night Shift
JOB SUMMARY:
LUKE is seeking a dedicated and experienced Caregiver Supervisor/Lead to oversee and manage daily operations within an assigned shift at the U.S. Border Patrol San Diego Sector. As a key member of our team, the Caregiver Supervisor will ensure smooth operations by providing guidance and oversight to staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of management and leadership experience
- Proficiency in using technology (Tablets, iPads)
- Strong accountability for Time and Attendance management
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills (Handling staff concerns and suggestions)
- Effective task scheduling and flexibility
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Proactive and able to take initiative
- Experience onboarding new hires
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and oversee daily operations independently or jointly within the assigned shift.
- Execute daily and weekly duty assignments and schedules for staff.
- Maintain shift logs for employees, including breaks, meal periods, and other operational duties.
- Monitor and evaluate staffing operations and workflow to ensure efficiency.
- Assist with caregiver duties when necessary during staffing shortages or shift turnovers.
- Provide effective leadership by fostering open communication, coaching, and setting clear expectations for staff.
- Track and document Time and Attendance issues (tardiness, absences, sick leave, etc.).
- Enforce policies and procedures as outlined in the job requirements.
- Generate required reports related to employee issues and significant incidents.
- Maintain operational records as required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
