Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC 28310, and outlying clinics and offices located on Fort Bragg, NC 28310.

Hours

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 0700 and 1630, excluding federal holidays. Exact duty hours will be coordinated between the Contractor, COR, and Government Supervisor. No telework. No on-call hours.

Position Overview

The Audiologist supports the Fort Bragg Public Health Army Hearing Program at Womack Army Medical Center, providing advanced clinical hearing care to service members and beneficiaries. This mission-centered role includes diagnostic evaluation, treatment intervention, hearing aid services, and support for military hearing conservation and surveillance efforts.

Position Qualifications / Requirements

Education: A graduate or higher-level graduate degree that included 18 semester hours in the field of audiology with approved clinical practice. The degree program must have been approved, recognized, or accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) at the time the degree was obtained.

Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice audiology at the doctoral level in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Certification: Completion of the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation Course (CAOHC) prior to hiring; board certified by, and in good standing with, the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) or American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

Experience: Current, professional knowledge of state-of-the-art clinical audiology, including military hearing loss and auditory system injuries and disorders, population health surveillance, military medicine, contemporary electrophysiologic tests of hearing and balance, hearing aid evaluation and fitting protocols, and verification and validation techniques.

Duties

·        Performs audiology assessment and treatment interventions.

·        Exercises clinical judgment and adapts clinical procedures and techniques to patient needs.

·        Documents appropriate information related to patient care in the medical record / electronic health record.

·        Coordinates and performs auditory processing evaluations for TBI injuries.

·        Provides hearing aid services critical to the hearing aid program.

·        Uses digital and diagnostic equipment to conduct specialized testing.

·        Applies current Army Hearing Standards and audiology scope of practice guidance.

Citizenship/English Language/Physical Capability: U.S. citizenship is required for this position. All contractor personnel must demonstrate professional proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and government personnel. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods; lift and move patients or equipment as required by the clinical setting; and perform the physical demands inherent to the specialty.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Base Down Days

The MTF observes installation training holidays and base down days. The contractor shall not be required to work on these days and will not receive additional compensation.
