US Army Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC, Department of Public Health, Occupational Health Clinic

Hours

Monday through Friday between 0700 and 1530, excluding federal holidays. Typical shift in the Occupational Health Clinic is 0700-1530 with a 30-minute lunch period, or 0700-1600 with a 60-minute lunch period. Shift shall not exceed 40 hours per week.

Position Overview

Supports an Occupational Health Clinic serving military and civilian employees at Womack Army Medical Center. This role provides clinically focused occupational medicine services in support of an active-duty installation environment.

Position Qualifications / Requirements

Education: Graduation from a physician assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Licensure: Shall have and maintain a current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Certification: Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Certification; successful completion of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; maintenance of certified physician assistant status including all CME and recertification requirements.

Experience: One year of experience within the last two years as a Physician Assistant after graduation/training.

Duties

·        Performs a full range of Occupational Medicine Physician Assistant duties for a large, highly diversified population working with a large range of potential hazards.

·        Performs job-related clinical examinations of military and civilian employees in person and virtually, including pre-employment, qualification, periodic, hazard exposure, fitness for duty, disability retirement, and return-to-work clearances.

·        Advises the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center regarding qualifications or disposition of applicants and employees.

·        Promotes preventive care and health maintenance through annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care education and counseling.

·        Establishes collaborative rapport with physicians, nursing, and others to promote and facilitate primary care services.

·        Attends staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement.

·        Completes immunization reviews and lab orders related to immunizations and/or appointments.

·        Participates in immunization events.

·        Provides documentation and uses government-directed systems and procedures for invoicing and workflow support.

Citizenship/English Language/Physical Capability: U.S. citizenship is required for this position. All contractor personnel must demonstrate professional proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and government personnel. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods; lift and move patients or equipment as required by the clinical setting; and perform the physical demands inherent to the specialty.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Base Down Days

The MTF observes installation training holidays and base down days. The contractor shall not be required to work on these days and will not receive additional compensation.
