Starting Rate: $16.19

AUDIOLOGY TECHNICIAN

 

SITE OF LOCATION:

Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX

 

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) diploma.

Experience: Possess a minimum of one year of experience within the last two years working as a full-time Audiology technician.

Cardiac Certification(s): Have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. The American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is the only program accepted.

U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen

English Language Requirement:  Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.

Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

 

 

CORE DUTIES:

Audiology Technicians shall perform the following functions, within the scope of accepted Audiology Technician practices. These shall be essentially the same duties as those required of any Medical Corps personnel or Government civil service provider of similar experience and in similar duty assignments. Other duties shall consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

·       Works with Solider Readiness Program performing hearing tests on soldiers to be deployed.

·       Shall receive service members, explain methods of procedures, position service members, perform diagnostic radiographic service to service members. Technologists shall perform independent audiology examinations. Reviewing test results for quality control, contrast, detail and adequate demonstration of hearing. 

·       Document test results. Maintain documentation of all tests provided in accordance with CRC directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required by the policy. Ensure all documentation and reports are legible and complete. The HCP shall prepare all documentation to meet or exceed established standards of the CRC to include but not limited to timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content and signature.

 

HOURS: 

Hours for services are 5:30am to 4:30pm (8 hour shifts) Monday through Friday. This position requires flexibility and possibility to work weekend days

 

BASE DOWN DAYS:

During a planned closure of the facility due to training, closures before or after holidays family down days, Employee will only be compensated for the actual hours worked. If clinic is closed and employee is not able to work, employee will be required to use leave or take LWOP (without penalty).

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
