PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN
SITE OF SERVICE:
Fayetteville VA Medical Center: 2300 Ramsey Street Fayetteville, NC 28301
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
· Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges: Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
· Licensure(s):
o Possess a current and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Island.
o Possess a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
o Registration certificate National Provider Identifier (NPI).
· Board Certification: Board Certification must be current.
· Experience: Medical professional who studies, diagnoses, and treats illness, injuries, and other ailments. They have knowledge of medical ethics, human anatomy, pharmacology, and other specialties depending on their field. Physicians provide preventative care, detect developing health problems, and give advice to help patients develop healthy habits. Physicians are also known as doctors or medical practitioners
· Certification: shall maintain current certification in
o Basic Life Support (BLS)
o Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Internship/Residency
· U.S. Citizenship: shall be a U.S. citizen.
· English Language Requirement: Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.
· Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.
HOURS:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This is NOT a telehealth position.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
