Compliance Specialist

Location: Hybrid/Corporate Office, Rockledge, FL

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Compliance Specialist to oversee government contract requirements and Joint Commission standards for our quality assurance/compliance department. This role is essential in ensuring our healthcare professionals meet all necessary compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of clerical/administrative experience in government contracting, auditing, or a medical setting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), TEAMS, and internet research tools
  • Auditing or credentialing experience in a medical field is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly over the phone
  • Ability to multitask and follow through on assignments
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards preferred
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently
  • Proven ability to effectively resolve customer conflicts
  • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Core Duties:

  • Enter, update, and maintain records and information
  • Assist with annual reviews to meet Joint Commission standards and contract requirements
  • Provide general office support, including auditing files and other administrative tasks
  • Research data, review various documents, and assist in editing and formatting
  • Prepare and run various monthly reports and metrics
  • Handle phone calls and direct inquiries as needed
  • Communicate with field personnel to ensure accurate and timely documentation and reporting
  • Monitor company compliance and effectiveness
  • Utilize software to track ongoing projects to completion
  • Manage customer service and escalation issues to minimize conflict

Special Requirements/Skills:

  • International Organizational for Standardization (ISO) experience Preferred.
  •  Joint Commission credentialing experience preferred.
  • Compliance Risk Management experience, preferred.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, preferred.
  • Ability to reprioritize tasks on short notice and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work with diverse personalities
  • Strong teamwork and time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • High adaptability and willingness to embrace change
